About The SchoolThe Raphael Steiner School was opened to meet the demand of local parents for a different, more responsive kind of education in the area. Such was the response from the first public meeting to raise the idea in January 2002, that the school opened its doors to 14 children aged 4 – 8 in September that same year. Since then it is proud of its achievements: doubling the school size, purchasing the land and commissioning a classroom in its distinctive log cabin style.
The school is run through a management committee of local parents, and supporters of Steiner education, in conjunction with its small and very dedicated college of teachers. Other parents volunteer to help with practical tasks to help the school run smoothly for the children.
